7.20 Experiencing the communion of the Holy Spirit within you
The Bible says that the Holy Spirit is our companion. He dwells with us and in us. He never leaves us nor forsakes us. No one can take the Holy Spirit away from you. He is the seal of your redemption in Christ.
(John 14:16-17)
And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He DWELLS WITH YOU and WILL BE IN YOU.
Since He lives in us, we can talk to Him anytime and anywhere. We can listen to His leading in our hearts. We can also enjoy His tangible presence in worship and in prayer. In short, we can enjoy communion or fellowship with Him.
(2 Corinthians 13:14)
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the COMMUNION OF THE HOLY SPIRIT be with you all. Amen.
When we commune with Him, we will no longer feel lonely even if we are alone. In fact, we can experience the Holy Spirit as our best Friend as many people have come to experience.
The apostles in the book of Acts experienced what the Lord Jesus told them in John 14:16-17. They experienced the communion of the Holy Spirit. They were as conscious of the invisible person and the presence of the Holy Spirit in their midst as the people that they saw.
When Peter testified before the council in Acts 5:31-32, he said that they were witnesses of Jesus’ resurrection, and so was the Holy Spirit. In Acts 15:28, the apostles and the elders of the Jerusalem church wrote to the Gentile churches saying, “It seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us…” The Holy Spirit was mentioned first as the person in their midst. We could say that the Holy Spirit was more real to them that the people around them. It is clear that they enjoyed deep communion with the person of the Holy Spirit.
Today, He can be real to you. He is always with you and you can experience Him as your best Friend. You will no longer feel lonely when you enjoy His constant companionship.
