7.10 Experience the love of God through the Holy Spirit

Tonight, I met up with our long time friends, Dr. & Mrs. Leong, leaders of the Lutheran revival. We had the opportunity to share with their home group. Though I had not planned to share any testimonies about my university experiences, the Holy Spirit led me to share two examinations-related testimonies. One was a diversion and the second was an insert before the end.

Little did I know that the Lord was speaking to a lady who is having exams in two weeks time. She responded to the invitation to receive the Lord. Such is the extent of God’s love that He caused a diversion and placed an insertion just to speak to one person. We welcome Amanda to the family of God and to Daily Rhema.

We continue with our lesson. The Holy Spirit came not only to attest to the finish work of Christ, He also came to bring us the love of God which flows from the cross. He brings us that love all the way into our hearts.

(Romans 5:5)
Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

The verse says that the love of God is POURED OUT in our hearts BY THE HOLY SPIRIT. It speaks of the magnitude and the extent of His love. And the person who delivers that experience of God’s love is the Holy Spirit. Today, when we walk in the Spirit, we will experience the love of God in a new and greater way.

The story of the prodigal son tells us how the father fell on his neck and kissed him (Luke 15:20). The word “fell” actually means to embrace. So the father embraced the son with love and kissed him.

When Peter preached to Cornelius’s household, it was recorded that the Holy Spirit fell on all of them who heart the Word (Acts 10:44). The word fell is the same word as Luke 15:20 – which means to embrace. The Holy Spirit embraced the household of Cornelius with God’s love.

Today, the Holy Spirit is embracing us with God’s love. He fills our heart with God’s love. For those who are deficient in love, or those who are lonely or broken-hearted, they can draw upon His love through the Holy Spirit who lives in them.
