8.96 Experience the ministry of life instead of death
Jesus came to give us abundant life (John 10:10). He did not come to give us the law. He did not come to give us religion. He did not come to give us principles of successful living. He came to give us life – ZOE LIFE. Zoe life is God’s life; not just physical life.
He is the way, the truth and the life (John 14:6). In Him was life and that life was the light of men (John 1:4). Jesus is the bread of life (John 6:35). His words are spirit and life (John 6:63). He is the resurrection and the life (John 11:25). He gives us eternal life (John 3:15). He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son does not have life (1 John 5:12). We have passed from death to life by believing in Jesus (John 5:24).
Today, as Christians, we are to receive, enjoy and manifest God’s life from within us. Eternity has already begun from the moment you were born again. Jesus did not come to make bad people good, He came to make dead people live. Jesus is not interested in behavior modification; He is interested in life-transformation. This is why Jesus did not come to give the law, but to impart His life from within.
The Holy Spirit Manifests the Life of God in Us
How can we experience more of the abundant life of Jesus? How is His zoe life manifested in us? It is through His Spirit whom He has given us. The Holy Spirit is called the “Spirit of life”. He is the agent of life that has set us free from the law of sin and death.
(Rom 8:2)
For the law of the SPIRIT OF LIFE in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.
Let us share another powerful verse to show that the Holy Spirit as the agent of life can even give life to our mortal bodies.
(Rom 8:11)
But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give LIFE to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.
Today, we have the source of life, the Holy Spirit living in us. We are indeed privileged. The key to walking in the life of God is really to draw from Jesus in us. It is to live by the power and the life of the Spirit. The Holy Spirit gives us healing, health, abundance, peace of mind, wisdom and spiritual growth in our inner-man.
