6.22 You are complete in Christ

(Colossians 2:9-10)
For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and YOU ARE COMPLETE IN HIM, who is the head of all principality and power.

The first time I heard this phrase, “You are complete in Him,” it was like finding a priceless gem. It is such a powerful and profound verse.

So many Christians look within themselves and often feel so incomplete. They feel that they lack so many things and it frustrates them. They don’t measure up for God. They don’t measure up in their relationships. They need a breakthrough. They need to conquer their problems. They are looking for more blessings. They need healing, peace of mind, etc. There is always something that they are striving for and they feel incomplete without it. It is hard to be in a state of rest when we are always striving.

But the answer is not found in ourselves. No wonder we feel incomplete. The answer is in Christ. We have to take our eyes away from ourselves and fix it on Jesus. Col 2:10 says that Jesus is the fullness of the Godhead. He is the head of all principality and power. He is the answer to everything.

Someone said, “If only I lived 2,000 years ago and walked with Jesus on the shores of Galilee. He could help fix all my problems. I could touch the hem of His garment and be healed. Today, you are not one of the multitudes who walked with Him. You have something even BETTER! When you accepted Christ, you died and resurrected with Him. Your life is wrapped up in Him and He also lives in you. If He lives in you, you are complete in Him. You lack nothing.

“Well I don’t measure up!” But Jesus measured up and you are in Him.
“But I need a breakthrough!” Jesus broke through 2,000 years ago and He lives in you.
“Oh I need to conquer my circumstances!” But the Conqueror lives in you and He has made you more than a conqueror through Him.
“Now I need more blessings!” You have the Source of blessings in living in you, and you have been blessed with every blessing in Him.
“I really need healing from Jesus!” The Healer lives in you, and by His stripes you were healed.
“I need peace of mind!” The Prince of Peace lives in you, and you have peace beyond understanding.
“I need to do more for God!” Relax. The one who did everything on the cross now lives in you. And He wants you to rest, and to see Him work through you.
“But I am backslidden and I need to be reconciled to God!” It was God in Christ who reconciled you to Him. He is closer than you think – in your heart.

We do not struggle within ourselves. The answer is not there. The answer is in Him and He lives in you. You are complete in Him. You can rest in Him. When you rest in the fact that you are complete in Him, you will start to see Him work in your life.
