6.19 In Christ – As He is, so are we in this world

Let us pause and take stock of all the wonderful promises in Christ which we have covered to date in this series.

Some say that it is too good to be true. Some find it hard to believe all these wonderful things because they are still looking at themselves in the flesh. But God doesn’t look at you in your flesh. He looks at you through Christ because you are in Christ. The following verse tells us that, as Christ is, so are we in this world. This is how God sees us. He sees us as Christ is.

(1 John 4:16-17)
Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because AS HE IS, SO ARE WE IN THIS WORLD.

This is how we should see ourselves. When we see ourselves in Christ, we will experience the reality of Christ in us. When we are plugged in to the vine, we will receive the life of the vine in us. We have to see ourselves in Christ to experience His power. You may say, “This is not practical at all for my problems!”

Let me share a powerful testimony which I was reminded of today. There was a lady who was diagnosed with a lump in her breast. The doctors said that she should go back for further tests in the afternoon to determine if it was malignant. The woman had heard the message, “As He is, so are we in this world.” Her faith was strong. She declared that Jesus did not have any lumps in his breasts, so neither should she have it. She saw herself in Christ. When she went back in the afternoon, the doctors could not find that lump. They thought it was a different person. They realized it was a miracle. Today, as you meditate on the promises of your identity in Christ, remember that as Jesus is in heaven, so are we in this world.
