6.14 You have the eternal love of God in Christ

(Romans 8:38-39, NKJV)
For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the LOVE OF GOD which is IN CHRIST Jesus our Lord.

Why is it that nothing can separate us from the love of God both now and forever? It is because the love of God is in Christ. And we are also in Christ. We live in the love of God. Christ is also in us and His love is in us. Isn’t it wonderful that we can be secure in His love?

Today, many Christians are fearful of God, of judgment, and of condemnation. They do not realize that Jesus has taken our judgment and condemnation. Isaiah 53 talks about how Jesus bore our judgment and established the New Covenant on the cross. After God’s judgment has been emptied on Jesus, He swore in the next chapter (Isaiah 54:9-10) that He would no longer be angry with us, just as the waters of Noah would no longer cover the earth. His kindness shall not depart from us and His covenant of peace shall not be removed.

Jesus has demonstrated God’s unconditional love on the cross. When we are perfected in the love of God, we will no longer have any fear of judgment. The perfect love of God casts out fear of judgment. His love makes us bold in the day of judgment because our standing is found in Christ. As Christ is, so are we in this world. God sees us exactly like the way He sees Jesus – with love.

(1 John 4:17-19, NKJV)
Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. We love Him because He first loved us.

And because of this eternal love of God that we experience in Christ, we are transformed. We love Him because He first loved us. In the original text, it says, “We love because He first loved us.” We have the capacity to love God and others because of His love that has been poured out in our hearts.

Today, you can be secure in His eternal love because you are in Christ. If you have the fear of judgment or of death, you need to have the revelation of His love poured out on the cross. We are to live in the fullness of His love.
