6.7 In Christ you who once were far off have been brought near to God

(Ephesians 2:13-14)
But now IN CHRIST Jesus you who once were far off have been BROUGHT NEAR by the blood of Christ. For He Himself is OUR PEACE, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation…

In Christ, we who were once far off from God have been brought near. We were once lost, living in darkness, subject to death, without hope in life, and alienated from God. But through Christ, we have been reconciled to God.

(2 Corinthians 5:19)
…that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.

We are now sons and daughters of God, partakers of His nature, we have hope, we have an inheritance, we live in the light, we are citizens of heaven, the life of God dwells in us, and we are so close to the Father.

In the Old Covenant, it was a fearful thing to come before God’s presence. It takes one wrong move and the priest could die in God’s presence – like the sons of Aaron. That was the Old Covenant before Jesus came. Today, it is different because of Jesus and His blood that has washed our sins. Hebrews 4:16 says that we are to come boldly to the throne of grace. We can enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way – Jesus (Heb 10:19-20).

When you enter God’s presence, does your consciousness of sin hinder you? Are we like Adam, who hid from God because he was troubles by a sin-conscience? Or are you like the Old Covenant priest who is constantly reminded of his sins because of the inability of the blood of animals to remove their sins for eternity?

(Hebrews 10:2-4)
For the worshipers, once purified, would have had NO MORE CONSCIOUSNESS of sins. But in those sacrifices there is a REMINDER of sins every year. For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and goats could take away sins.

Today, we can enter boldly because of the blood of Jesus. If you put your faith in His blood, you will no longer have consciousness of sins. You will enjoy peace through the consciousness of His blood. Heb 10:2 says that when the worshipper is purified by the blood of Jesus, he would have had no more consciousness of sins.

When you have no more consciousness of sins, you will experience true intimacy with God. You will be found in His bosom without fear. You will draw from the fountains of His love. Therefore, in Christ you have been brought so near to God – nearer than you can imagine.
