6.15 You have abundant life in Christ

The Bible says that Jesus is the source of life. He gave life to all that we see on planet earth for everything was made through Him. The Bible declares that in Him was life and that life was the light of men.

(John 1:3-4)
All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. IN HIM was LIFE, and the life was the light of men.

In the Garden of Eden, Adam and Eve enjoyed the life of death. They could live forever. Death came only after they ate of the forbidden fruit. They experienced spiritual death immediately. This was followed by loss of peace, stress, child-birth pains, toil, sickness and physical death. Death is total for the wages of sin is death.

But Jesus, the author of life came to conquer death through His redemption work on the cross. He died our death to give us His life. Today, we have life in Christ. We received His life as a free gift. The gift of God is eternal life IN CHRIST JESUS.

(Rom 6:23-7:1)
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal LIFE IN CHRIST Jesus our Lord.

The word life that is used in the Bible is “zoe” which means God’s kind of life. It speaks of the quality of life rather than just “getting to heaven”. Just as sin was total, the life of God is also total. Just as spiritual death resulted in the other effects of death, receiving Jesus in our hearts will result in the abundant life of Christ. This include the redemption from every curse of sin – resulting in peace of mind, rest, redemption from child-birth pains, fruitfulness, abundance, health, wholeness, and eternity in heaven. Jesus came to give us abundant life.

(John 10:10)
I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

We can enjoy this life because we are in Christ, the source of life. And the life of Christ also abides in us. This is the privilege of being in Christ. The Bible describes it so beautifully. We used to experience death because we were in Adam. Now we can experience life because we are in Christ. We don’t need to look for it from anywhere else.

(1 Cor 15:22)
For as in Adam all die, even so IN CHRSIT all shall be made ALIVE.

Today, you have abundant life in Christ. As you abide in Him, and He in you, begin to enjoy the zoe life of God, and to reign over every circumstance.
