2.1 New Series - GROWING IN RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD
Every Christian goes through a lifetime journey of growing in relationship with our Heavenly father. For some, God seems so far away and unreal, but He is close to us, and He wants to fellowship with us.
He delights in intimacy with us. When God created mankind, He would fellowship with Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden in the cool of the day (Genesis 3:8). However, that fellowship was disrupted when Satan caused Eve and Adam to eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
(Genesis 3:8, NKJV)
And they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden.
Sin became a barrier to relationship with God. Because God desired for mankind to be reconciled into an intimate relationship with God, He sent His only Son, Jesus to remove sin.
When we received Jesus into our heart, we became children of God.
(John 1:12, NKJV)
But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.
It is such a privilege to be a precious child of God, and our Heavenly Father wants us to grow in relationship with Him.
