1.13 How do I grow in faith?

All things are possible to him who believes. Faith is the key to receive all our promises from God. Therefore, it is important to grow and be established in our faith. How do we grow in faith?

(Romans 10:17, NCV)
So faith comes from hearing the Good News, and people hear the Good News when someone tells them about Christ
.

Romans 10:17 says that we grow in faith by hearing the good news or gospel of Christ. The NKJV says that faith comes by hearing the “Word of God”. The “Word of God” here actually refers to the gospel of Christ (Rom 10:15-16).

Firstly, Christianity is established on the finished work of Christ. That is why the source of faith is the good news of Christ. Hebrews 12:2 says that Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith.

Secondly, faith comes from “hearing”. We have to keep hearing the gospel to grow in faith. We cannot depend on what he heard yesterday, or last year. We have to read and hear God’s Word daily.

Thirdly, the gospel of Christ is found in the Bible. The four Gospels focus on the life of Jesus and the Epistles explain about His finished work on the cross. We can spend time reading them to grow in faith.
