5.3 Seeing Jesus revealed throughout the Old Testament (Part 1)

Look out for Jesus when you read the Bible, especially in the Old Testament. It is exciting to uncover what is hidden with the help of the Holy Spirit.

The coming of Jesus was mentioned as early as in Gen 3:15. The Savior would defeat Satan on the cross.

See Jesus in the blood sacrifice of Abel that was accepted by God.

See Jesus as the Ark of Noah that delivered Noah’s family from the judgment of sin.

See Jesus as the ram that was offered by Abraham in the place of Isaac.

See Jesus our High Priest when you see Melchizedek, the priest of God who blessed Abraham.

See Jesus and the Church in the story of Isaac, whose father’s servant (the Spirit) returned with a bride, Rebekah (the Church).

See Jesus betrayed for silver by His own brethren when you see Joseph sold (betrayed) by his own brothers for silver. See Jesus in Hades when you see Joseph in the dungeon.

See Jesus on the right hand of the Father, when you see Joseph at the right hand of Pharaoh as Prime Minister of Egypt.
