2.25 Practice being led by the Spirit
She works for an MNC and has been coping with a difficult colleague. When this colleague X was talking to another colleague Z, the Holy Spirit told her that the colleague X was making false accusations against her. The Holy Spirit opened her ears and she even knew what they talked about. She did not hear them physically because they were actually quite a distance away. She heard their conversation in her spirit.
She later asked colleague Z about the conversation. Colleague Z was shocked that she knew exactly what Colleague X said. The leading of the Holy Spirit enabled this dear sister to clarify the situation. The Holy Spirit has been helping this dear sister with His guidance. She also felt comforted and assured by His presence.
Today, we need to practice being led by the Spirit. Jesus said that His sheep follow Him for they know His voice (John 10:4). This is a privilege, and a vital part of our exciting relationship with Him. However, many Christians are not confident of being led by the Spirit. As a result they decide not to tune in. But every child of God starts off the same way, and we grow more confident in recognizing His leading over time.
Learning to listen to the Holy Spirit is like a baby learning to walk. We will fall but we must get up and continue trying. Finally the baby will walk. We should not be afraid to occasionally mishear God because practice makes perfect.
