2.17 Recognizing the sensation of the inner witness

The Bible says that the Holy Spirit bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God. We call it the inner witness. Most people will ask, “What is the sensation of the inner witness like? How do I recognize it?” These are important questions.

To bear witness is to have a sense on agreement between the Holy Spirit and our spirit-man. Another version says, “The Spirit himself joins with our spirit to say we are God’s children.”

(Rom 8:15-16, NCV)
The Spirit we received does not make us slaves again to fear; it makes us children of God. With that Spirit we cry out, “Father.”
And the Spirit himself joins with our spirits to say we are God’s children.

There is an inner-knowing, inner-conviction, or inner-peace within our hearts that WE ARE God’s children. It does not come from the external realm, or our intellect or our emotions. It comes from the Holy Spirit.

Do you know that you are God’s child? Stop and listen to your heart. Can you sense the inner witness from the Spirit? Can you hear your spirit crying out “Daddy God” by the Holy Spirit? If you really listen to your heart, you will experience the inner witness. That is the sensation that you should grow to recognize more and more each day.
