8.66 Works of faith – walking in the full redemption of Christ

We continue on the topic of “works of faith”. When we walk according to the reality what Christ has accomplished on the cross, we are walking on faith. These actions are our works of faith. But if we strive in self-effort to attain to the promises of the cross, we are ignoring the reality of the cross, and we are not walking in faith.

Paul says that we have been freely justified (made righteous) through the redemption that is IN CHRIST Jesus.

(Rom 3:23-24) …for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified freely by His grace through the REDEMPTION that is IN CHRIST Jesus…

The basis of our redemption is by His grace alone for we could not redeem ourselves as spiritual bankrupts. Jesus came to give us grace that we did not deserve. Through His grace, we have been fully redeemed. When we were laden with debt, He paid the full debt of our sins. In fact, He overpaid to redeem us because He loved us.

Today, we know that we have redemption in Christ Jesus. It is not a partial redemption; it is a full redemption. In Him, all our sins have been nailed to the cross for eternity.

(Col 2:13)
And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having FORGIVEN you ALL TRESPASSES.

It is not just redemption from sin, but from the curses that come along with sin – the curses of the law.

(Gal 3:13)
Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”)…

Today, you can walk by faith as the redeemed of the Lord. You can walk by faith above all the curses of the law. The curses mentioned in Deut 28 include sickness, poverty, confusion, defeat, destruction, etc. The curses in Genesis 3 include child bearing pain, sweat and toil. When the symptoms of the law appear, you can stand on faith, rebuke every symptom, and walk in your redemptive promises.

Frequently, what comes out from our mouth will confirm whether we are walking in faith. The greatest action of faith is in our speaking. 2 Corinthians 4:13 says “I believed and therefore I spoke”. We speak out faith. When we are standing in faith for healing, we say, “Thank you Jesus that by your stripes I was healed.” You can speak your faith.

Redeemed by Christ,
