5.30 Epistles – Christianity is also about “Christ in us”

We have said that Christianity is about being in Christ. Now when we first received salvation IN CHRIST, we also experienced Christ coming to live IN US through His Spirit. Therefore, when we see ourselves IN CHRIST, we will also experience Christ IN US.

Let us consider what Jesus said about our relationship with Him. First, we are to abide in Christ and then He also abides in us. Only then will we bear fruit and accomplish His purposes.

(John 15:5, NKJV)
I am the vine, you are the branches. He who ABIDES IN ME, and I IN HIM, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.

We started abiding in Christ when we believed in Him as our Savior. At that moment He came to live in us through His Spirit and became a new creation. We continue abiding in Christ by believing everything about who we are in Him. He is our wisdom, righteousness, sanctification, redemption, healing, deliverance, good shepherd, baptizer in the Spirit, bread of life, etc.

As we believe more and more of who we are IN HIM, we begin to experience that manifestation of Him IN US. When you see yourself healed in Christ, you will experience the healing power of Christ in you. When you see yourself as holy in Christ, you will experience the fruit of holiness (fruit of the Spirit) in you. This is the Christian life of the New Covenant.

Paul who preached the mystery of being “IN CHRIST” now talks about the mystery of “CHRIST IN HIM”. He declared the secret to his life and success. It was Christ living in him and through him. He walked in the resurrection life of Christ.

(Galatians 2:20, NKJV)
I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but CHRIST LIVES IN ME; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.

If we get to the heart of Christianity, it is about us abiding in Christ and Christ abiding in us. Today, as you discover more of who you are IN CHRIST, you will also experience more of CHRIST IN YOU. As you walk by faith IN HIM, you will experience more of the power of HIS SPIRIT in you. Like Paul, we can say, “It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me.” If Christ is in you, you are complete and you have everything. No wonder Paul says, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” There is no better way to live life.
