4.8 Testimony – Redeemed from labor pains under the New Covenant

No more labor pains in childbirth! That was the revelation I received as I heard the teaching of God’s Word. I had been constantly eager to discover my full covenant benefits in Christ, in order to walk in them. So when I understood from Gal 3:13 that Jesus had borne all our curses of sin (the curse of the law) on the cross, I believed immediately that He had also redeemed us from the curse of labor pains (Gen 3:16), which was pronounced as a result of Eve’s sin.

(Gal 3:13)
Christ has REDEEMED us from the CURSE OF THE LAW, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”)…

When my wife Florence was expecting, we agreed in faith that she would not experience labor pains as a New Covenant believer in Christ. We declared that Jesus has redeemed her physical temple of the Holy Spirit. We had nine full months of preparation through meditating on God’s promises. Florence also made it a point not to indulge in negative conversations with other expectant mothers at her office.

As we had believed, Florence experienced painless childbirth for both our children. She did not have to use any painkillers or an epidural. During the birth of our first child, Ronnie, the dilation was fast and the baby arrived so quickly that the doctor came just in time to deliver him. He said that it was one of the fastest deliveries for a first child. We had an equally quick and smooth delivery for our second child, Tania.

Florence also had minimal morning sickness and other discomforts during both pregnancies. Her body functioned as a redeemed body – redeemed from the curse of sin through Christ.
